What is an Escape Room?
An escape room is an exciting entertainment option where players have one hour to solve puzzles and challenges to figure out how to escape a themed room. It is a great way to get out of the house an enjoy fun with family, friends, co-workers or complete strangers. Challenge your mind and teamwork abilities to solve unique puzzles and challenges and see if you can escape!
Do we have to bring 8 people?
No! You only pay for the number of people you bring. When booking online, the system will automatically block all remaining spots for the game. If you need to add players later, just bring them along and they can pay onsite.
Do I need a reservation to enjoy the Escape Room experience?
A reservation is not necessary, but it is best way to guarantee you get the game and timeslot that you want. Thankfully you can book online easily! Just click any of the 'Book Now' buttons or call 304-941-5354.
What happens if I/we arrive late?
If you think you are going to be arriving late, please call and let us know. It will allow us to review the schedule and provide your group with options.
What if I need to change my reservation? What is your cancellation policy?
All of our games are non-refundable. We will allow you to reschedule the game if you contact us at least 4 hours before the game.
What if I am only in town for a few days and really, really want to visit?
To add a reservation outside of our normal business hours, call or email us and we can make arrangements!
We want to book more than one room during your normal business hours but noticed they start at different times? What can we do?
If you want to reserve more than one room with them starting at the same time, you can send us an email ([email protected]) or call 304-941-5354 and we can accommodate you. This applies any day of the week.
How long does each event last?
About one hour total to an hour and 30 minutes. Please plan to arrive 15-20 minutes before your start time! When you arrive you will receive a quick briefing on the game. Then the fun begins! You will be placed in the room and will have 60 minutes to get out.This will leave some time afterwards for fun photos!
Are we really locked in a room?
No! For safety reasons, the door you enter remains unlocked. However, the goal of the room will be to find the clues and solve puzzles that lead to your escape through a different door.
Are the lights turned off?
Depends on the room. In some cases you may start off with minimal lighting and you have to find the way to turn on the lights.
Can children participate?
Kids actually love the game, but we do have some restrictions outlined below. They will not be able to do it all on their own but they sure are good at finding things and linking things together.
The Inheritance : Suitable for all ages
Deadman's Bounty: Kids under 12 be accompanied by adult
Jail Break: Suitable for all ages
Dead Line: Kids under 12 be accompanied by adult
Wicked Cavern: Suitable for all ages
***We do give extra hints to kids to help them through the harder puzzles***
Do I need to wear anything special?
Wear anything you are comfortable in, but the most activity you will be engaging in may be squatting down or getting on your knees to look under or to get a closer look at something.
What is parking like for Locked & Coded Escape Rooms?
There are spots in front of the building and in the back. You can park beside the car wash on weekends and evenings. You can also park in the mall or in the city parking lot just down the street.
Are Locked & Coded Escape Rooms good for Team-building, Bachelor & Bachelorette Parties, and Unique Birthday Events?
Yes! We offer good, clean fun with an attractive lobby & waiting area. You can reserve during our regular business hours or call to book a special arrangement.
NOTE: ** We reserve the right to refuse admittance to people appearing visibly intoxicated by alcohol or drugs. In this scenario, you will receive no refund or rescheduling. We take the safety of our staff and other guests very seriously. Trust us, you will do a lot better in the rooms if you have all of your wits about you!
Do you have any Tips/Advice for playing Locked & Coded Escape Rooms?
Sure!
Not everything is a clue. There are some Red Herrings.
Separate and search! There is plenty to find.
Communicate... if you find something, let others know.
Keep the clues out in case you need to revisit them.
Double check each other’s answers and searches if you are stuck!
Also...
There is no need to climb on anything… there are no clues above normal reach.
There are no clues in any lamps, electrical outlets, plugs or cords.
There is no excessive force or physical exertion required, so be gentle with things.
Don't be afraid to be silly! This is a game - have fun!
